Illuminated commercial text in Fraktur font flashes the following statements in rotation: “nein, aber” / ”ja, aber” (“no, but” / ”yes, but’). The Fraktur lettering featured in this piece, which was the official font of the Nazi regime, evokes the themes of migration, integration, conservatism, nationalism, among others.

In particular, the piece hints at the double standard currently operating when it comes to questions of integration and migration. While the piece invites a particular set of associations, the observer is free to interpret the meaning from his or her own standpoint.
